Need Prayer ?

Pray without ceasing….

I am thankful for my strong faith and belief in God's grace and the miracles he bestows upon us.   Throughout my 55 years, I often reflect on the moments when I truly felt God's presence, safeguarding me and my loved ones.   In September 2000,  my youngest daughter who was just a year old had to be hospitalized  for 1st and 3rd degree burns.   My husband brought her along to the store to grab breakfast and my favorite hot beverage, a cappuccino.   As my husband grabbed the bag from the sales clerk, it accidentally knocked over the coffee on the counter, causing it to spill onto the counter and onto my daughter.  The scalding coffee spilled onto the left side of her face and dripped onto her shoulder.   Therefore, she was required to spend a week in the hospital.  I have a vivid memory of being a complete wreck during that time. I spent the whole time at the hospital, sleeping in a large crib with my daughter that looked like it came from a zoo.  I refused to be separated from my baby.   The doctor who evaluated her situation told us that she might need

a skin graft.

The doctor stated that it is probable they will need to administer a sedative to her before carrying out the procedure.  I believed that my baby had experienced more than enough.  The procedure was scheduled for the next day.  On that night before the procedure, I  prayed for healing and that she wouldn't have to undergo the grafting procedure  and that her burns would be further evaluated to not being severe enough for her to undergo the procedure. In essence I prayed for a miracle.  I also requested my fellow sisters, who share the same faith as me, to pray for my daughter.   Guess what? I witnessed a miracle - my daughter didn't have to go through that procedure.  We were able to take her home after a week, and care for her burns.

My daughter is 25 years old now and has no evidence of those burns.  I owe it all to God’s grace.  He performed a miracle. I have numerous other stories I tell about the grace of GOD.

Despite my mother not being cured from cancer, I still sense the presence of God in her situation.    I believe in everything that GOD is in control.  He is our creator and author of our lives.   I  appreciate each day that GOD allows me to enjoy my mother’s physical presence, and  I have experienced his grace during this difficult journey.

As caregivers, it is important for us to pray and entrust our concerns to the Lord.  Being a caregiver can be challenging, but we don't have to face it alone.  According to the Bible, we are instructed to give our worries to the Lord since he genuinely cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).  We've all faced life's difficulties, which can easily throw us off balance.

Conversing with GOD, the Divine Caregiver, as you handle your caregiving duties, is vital, because GOD is the only one who can answer your questions,  and address your concerns.   Bottom Line – God is the the perfect guide that provides for you doing the journey.  No matter what you are facing, it is important to seek GOD in prayer, even in the pressure filled moments of life.

• Below are some scriptures I found helpful to me and that I  mediate on  during my caregiving journey:

• Matthew 6:34 – Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own
• Proverbs 3:5-6-  Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight
• Psalm 121:1-2 -  I lift my eyes to the hill – where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth .
• Jeremiah 29:11 -  For I know the plans I have for you “declares the Lord., “plans to prosper you and not harm your, plans to give you hope and a future.”
• 1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you
• Isaiah 41:10 – Do not fear, I am with you, do not be anxious, I am your GOD, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious righthand.
• Psalm 46:2 – God is our refuge and our strength, an ever present help in distress.
• 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
• Phillipians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
• Isaiah 26:3 - You will keep him in perfect peace,Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
